As a deaf video designer, I was extremely excited by the opportunity to collaborate with Icarus Theatre to design creative captions for their production of The Lesson. Creative Captioning offers opportunities to deaf and hard of hearing audiences to more fully immerse themselves in a performance. Captions can appear on stage by being integrated with a set design matching the style of the show and reflect characterisation and tone.
