Icarus Education
Othello Workshops
To tie-in with Icarus' autumn tour of Othello, the Education Team have created seven workshops to compliment students understanding of the play.
Ages 11-14
The Reduced Othello - students workshop and perform the play in 90 minutes, gaining greater understanding and appreciation of the plot.
Ages 14-16
Location, location, location - practical design ideas.
A Song of Willow - exploring movement and music as utilised in Icarus' production of Othello.
Black Rams and Motiveless Malignities - race, manipulation and status in Othello.
Ages 16-18
Physicality and Etiquette - exploring practically the implications of Shakespeareasn etiquette.
Trippingly on the Tongue - Shakespearean verse in performance.
New Fortunes and Boisterous Expeditions - exploring the historical and political context of the play.
Each workshop lasts 90 minutes and will be led by an experienced workshop leader and a member of the Othello cast, subject to the actors' performance schedule.
One workshop: £350. Two workshops: £500. Discounts available with bookings for the production.
